A healthy start for
all children

DocTocToc is a non-profit organization. Our goal? Breaking barriers in access to health services for children aged 0 to 5 and their families, acting early and transforming lives.

MISSION

For more equitable healthcare

DocTocToc breaks barriers in access to health services for young children and families in the northern part of Montreal by offering them personalized support. Acting early can help transform their lives. Together, let’s pave the way so that every child can grow up healthy and reach their full potential.

  • 20%

In 2021-2022, about 10% of babies in Quebec did not have a family doctor or pediatrician. This proportion rises to 20% for those living in a low-income household. 1

  • 44%

In 2022, 29% of children in kindergarten for 5 year olds in Quebec were considered vulnerable in at least one area of their development. This proportion rises to 44% for those living in a low-income household. 2

  • 69%

69% of Quebec parents who did not use parenting support services despite their needs reported not knowing these services existed. The unavailability or inaccessibility of services were also cited as reasons. 3

Contexte

Let’s change the statistics and give all children the same chance to reach their full potential

Health is a basic human right. Yet difficulty accessing healthcare, especially for vulnerable persons, is still a major issue in Quebec. Early childhood is a crucial period in child development. Too many small children are deprived of the support they need for optimal health and development because their families struggle to access the resources available in their communities.
